Who said one can’t be stylish just because one is a politician? These women know no boundaries and are making it all the way up. They are smart, witty, hardworking, ambitious, beautiful, strong; bold and there is no stopping them. They got unsullied style and will give you a run for your money.

After careful deliberation and considerations, here in no particular order, 5 women in Ghanaian politics overwhelming us with their style

 

NANA KONADU AGYEMAN RAWLINGS

She is powerful, beautiful, ambitious; perfectionist and a fashionista!  “Hilary Clinton of Ghana”

I like to think of her as ‘forever young’. This lady is a force to be reckoned with in the Ghanaian politics and to top it up, this lady is got some unique sense of style and to not mention her signature head wrap would definitely get me arrested by the fashion police. SHE IS GORGEOUS WITH A BODY TO DIE FOR AT HER AGE. The former first lady has been featured on VOGUE, ELLE.  She has also been compared to Hilary Clinton in several instances http://vogue.cm/c7E0hFR.  This lady right here is the ‘new sexy’

 

HON. SARAH ADWOA SAFO

This beauty with brains is a lawyer by profession. She is also the current deputy majority leader of parliament of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for the Dome Kwabenya constituency the 36 year old is the daughter of industrialist and pastor we all know, Apostle Kwadwo Safo. She has been making waves with her fashion sense recently and we are basking in it. Her style is impeccable and always on point with her makeup which always compliments whatever she is wearing. Her love for our traditional clothes especially got us swooning.

 

SAMIRA BAWUMIA

Samira Bawumia, wife of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia is the second lady of the republic of Ghana. This beauty is a former beauty pageant contestant, TV host and a BA Law degree holder from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is drop dead gorgeous with awe-inspiring style. She made her debut appearance as Second Lady of Ghana under the Fourth Republic on January 7, 2017 in a simple but elegant African Print, beautifully crafted with beads which matched up with a matching head gear. For her makeup she always keeps it simple, not over the top and yet she glows. Her fashion choices are modest yet sophisticated and graceful. She is winning with her sense of style and we love it!

 

NANA OYE LITHUR

Nana Oye Lithur is our modern day ‘super girl’. She is ambitious, smart, and full of life as well as an inspiration to women and young girls. She is a Ghanaian barrister and then minister for gender, children and social protection in Ghana. She is renowned for her strong passion and dedication towards advocating for human rights and gender equality. Her style oozes cheerfulness, sophistication and pure elegance. Her style also likes to be provocative but not in the sensual way you probably imagining right now. This superwoman is a fan of fabrics and hence splurges on them. Her makeover though did justice to her and we love it.

 

SAMIA NKRUMAH

 Samia Nkrumah, daughter of Ghana’s first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is a Ghanaian politician and chairperson of the Convention People’s Party. In the year 2008 parliamentary election, she won the Jomoro constituency seat at her first attempt. She is a stylish lady who chooses to wear traditional attire. If we all patronize our local fabrics and designers like Samia, this would do wonders for the Ghanaian fashion industry wouldn’t it? She is almost always chic and gorgeous in traditional wax print cloths. The most read newspaper in Italy, Il Venerdì dedicated its front page to her. She was elegantly dresses in a green “ahwene pa nkasa” cloth with a properly wrapped headgear (duku). We love that you love and promote our traditional wax print cloths.
