Converse Teams Up with Isabel Marant for Exclusive Collection

For the first time, Converse and Isabel Marant have teamed up to release a collection that merges new and classic styles, reflecting her signature Parisian aesthetic.

The collection showcases Marant’s unique perspective, which artfully balances high and low fashion with a spontaneous, independent spirit and natural elegance. Like Converse, she embraces unpredictability and nonconformity, and this aesthetic is evident throughout the collection.

At the heart of the collaboration is Marant’s innovative design approach, particularly her love for the Chuck Taylor franchise. The collection features a new Chuck 70 Wedge silhouette and a refreshed version of the Chuck 70, embodying the essence of two iconic brands coming together to create “effortless luxury.”

Marant explains, “I developed my brand in a very open and genuine way. I chose to build it step by step to maintain complete freedom in my work. The notion of ‘effortless luxury’ is quite authentic to me, my designs, and their meaning. The word ‘luxury’ is used in too many ways, and you can get bored of it—it’s much more difficult to achieve something simple and effortless, which you never tire of.”

The new Chuck 70 Wedge adds to Converse’s elevated styles, featuring a hidden 2.5-inch wedge heel integrated into the Chuck 70 upper and midsole. This design honours Marant’s influence in fashion and her pioneering work with sneaker wedges in the 2010s.

The collection also includes Marant’s interpretations of the Chuck 70 hi and low-top sneakers, along with the Chuck 70 Ox. Each silhouette incorporates classic Chuck details infused with Marant’s design DNA, showcasing features like frayed cotton and polyester Jacquard upper, the Isabel Marant logo in a raw-edge canvas overlay, multicolour pinstripes and laces, and a matching translucent outsole.

During initial discussions with the Converse team, Marant naturally gravitated toward reimagining a wedge Converse sneaker.

“When I was a kid, about eight or nine, I used to cut pieces of cork and put them in my sneakers—those shoes were actually a pair of Chuck Taylors,”

she recalls.

“My intention was to create an honest collaboration between the two companies—something desirable while keeping a classic element. Something uncomplicated that remains true to the vibe of the original Chuck Taylor.”

The Converse x Isabel Marant collection will launch on September 11 at the Isabel Marant Turenne Paris pop-up and in Isabel Marant stores and on isabelmarant.com. It will be available the following day on converse.com and at select Converse locations.

This collaboration also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Converse’s inline heel offerings, introducing a Chuck Taylor All-Star Wedge featuring a classic design with a 2.5-inch hidden heel for added height. This inline silhouette will be available starting October 3 on converse.com and at select global retailers. An inline Chuck 70 Wedge will follow in the coming months.
