The new initiative is an international fashion cooperation project between Italy and South Africa aiming to promote cooperation between the industries of the two countries.
For this program, 3 young South African designers (Jacques Bam, Fikile Zamagcino Sokhulu, and Sipho Mbuto) and 3 young Italian designers (Julian Cerro, Ilaria Bellomo, and Domenico Orefice) have been selected to form duos of creators who will follow a virtual e-learning program developed by Polimoda ( the Fashion Institute of Milan) and the Italian National Chamber of Fashion.
At the end of the training program, each pair of participants will submit a capsule collection to be presented first at Milan Fashion Week in September and then in October at South Africa Fashion Week.
“Fashion Bridge” was introduced by various partnerships of industry, trade, and cultural organizations such as the Italian Embassy in Pretoria, Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana, Polimoda, Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana, Lineapelle, SAFW, and Italian Trade It was. Agency (ICE), with the support of Nelson Mandela Forum Florence.
