Highlights From JACCD 23rd Graduate Fashion Show

The Joyce Ababio College of Creative Design  (JACCD), last Saturday hosted its graduated fashion show to mark the 23rd graduation ceremony, since the establishment of the school 25 years ago. The one night only event saw 172 students graduating, with 161 students showcasing on the graduation night. Students who showcased were from the advance certificate, certificate and Vlisco Competition categories. The event hosted by media personality, Lexis Bill and Abena Chrappah ; Marketing and Communications Manager of JACCD, was well attended by parents, family and friends of graduates.

The Fashion Show was focused on ‘An Earth and Forest’ theme centered on Forest Green, Forest Destruction and Forest Restoration representing the journey to restoring our forest. The show began with a children line up wearing garments made from one time use plastics drumming home the need to recycle.  The show continued with garments from the 8 Advance Certificate graduates followed by 135 Certificate graduates.

Fifteen students, who participated in a Vlisco Competition, showcased their garments as judges present evaluated and awarded marks. In an intense suspense filled moment, after much deliberation Robin Corley emerged the winner. Other noticeable recognition include Mr. David Boye-Doe emerging as the Most Outstanding Student.

The event ended successfully amidst photographs and cheers as graduates reunited with family and friends to continue the merry making celebrating the completion of the various programs.
