Pat McGrath Joins Louis Vuitton as Creative Director for Their First-Ever Makeup Line.

Winning awards and breaking the internet with iconic beauty moments? Yeah, that wasn’t enough for Pat McGrath.

Now, just days before Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2025 show, the legendary makeup artist has officially been named Creative Director of La Beauté Louis Vuitton—the brand’s highly anticipated dive into luxury cosmetics.

“I’ve spent over 20 years working backstage at Louis Vuitton shows, so stepping into this role feels like a natural evolution,” McGrath shared in the official announcement. “La Beauté Louis Vuitton is all about craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation, and what we’re building is going to take luxury beauty to the next level.”

As one of the most influential makeup artists in the world, McGrath has been hands-on with the collection’s development for the past four years—while also juggling 15 fashion shows this season and running her own brand, PAT McGRATH LABS. No big deal.

But this isn’t Vuitton’s first foray into beauty. McGrath had full access to the house’s archives, which include vintage vanity cases dating back to 1854 and a lineup of powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors from the 1920s. Fast-forward to today, and the new collection is shaping up to be a stunner: 55 lipsticks, 10 tinted balms, and (if the rumors are true) eight eyeshadow quads.

“La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a natural next step for the brand,” says Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. “It’s all about quality, formula, and innovation—giving our clients something that fits seamlessly into their everyday lives while honoring our creativity and heritage.”
