Fruché Unveils SS27 Collection ‘KLEG’ at Berlin Fashion Week

Nigerian fashion label Fruché made a striking statement at Berlin Fashion Week with the unveiling of its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, KLEG, a deeply personal exploration of body image, identity, and self-acceptance. Named after the Nigerian Pidgin term for “knock knees,” the collection reclaims a phrase often associated with imperfection, transforming it into a celebration of individuality through distorted silhouettes, exaggerated proportions, and asymmetrical tailoring.

Creative Director Frank Aghuno also draws on memories of Nigerian school uniforms, reimagining familiar gingham through handwoven Aso Oke and resist-dyed Adire textiles. Traditional craftsmanship, including wood carving, beadwork, and hand-painted fabrics, remains central to the collection, reflecting Fruché’s commitment to preserving artisanal techniques while advancing contemporary African fashion.

Presented on Berlin Fashion Week’s official schedule, KLEG offered more than a runway presentation. It became a thoughtful meditation on heritage, memory, and self-expression, inviting audiences to embrace individuality and redefine beauty on their own terms.
