IAMISIGO and adidas come together in Sacred Ecologies, a collaboration that reimagines the relationship between sportswear, craft, and cultural heritage. Classic adidas silhouettes are deconstructed and rebuilt alongside handcrafted fibres, netting, and sculptural forms, allowing IAMISIGO’s distinctive design language to remain at the centre of the collection.
Rather than treating African heritage as something fixed in the past, the collaboration explores how memory, craft, and tradition can continue to evolve. The result is a form of active fashion where heritage moves with the body, bringing traditional knowledge into a contemporary setting without losing its connection to where it comes from.
Presented at Copenhagen Fashion Week SS27, Sacred Ecologies offers a fresh interpretation of the relationship between sport and culture. The collection looks beyond ecology as simply a connection to nature, exploring ideas of land, freedom, memory, and the knowledge passed between generations.
