Magapls “Iridescence” is a hypnotic exploration of the delicate yet profound relationship between plants and insects.
Magapls ‘Iridescence’
Conceived, styled, creatively directed, and produced by the artist, this body of work draws on the natural phenomenon of pollination, an exchange so subtle it continues, unseen, while we sleep.
Shot in May 2024 and meticulously refined over the span of twelve months, Iridescence fuses fashion with surrealism to capture the ethereal realm where nature’s smallest collaborators operate. Saturated lighting, reflective surfaces, night-sky motifs, water elements, and lush floral compositions create a visual language that feels suspended in a space between waking and dreaming.

Three figures emerge as embodiments of pollination’s key participants: the industrious bee, the transient butterfly, and the transformative caterpillar. The bee rests in an artificial bed of blossoms, poised between tenderness and toil. The butterfly drifts in shimmering tones, a fleeting messenger of renewal. The caterpillar exhales clouds like a pollinating moth, enveloped in the hazy atmosphere of metamorphosis.

Iridescence is more than a photographic series, it is a world unto itself, a momentary portal into the liminal space where flora and fauna merge, exchange, and quietly keep the earth alive.
