MMUSOMAXWELL, an African fashion brand has been given the Karl Lagerfield Innovation Award. This happened at the just ended 2022 International Woolmark Prize event.
The fashion label took home $72,000 aside from the bragging rights of an innovation award in the fashion world. The award was won via the label’s seven-piece collection, which is centered on upskilling South African manufacturers and traditional craftsmen alongside attention to a slow production model.
MMUSOMAXWELL is an ethical womenswear brand. It was started in Johannesburg South Africa by Maxwell Boko and Mmuso Potsane in 2016. The two crossed paths at an internship program where they decided to start a fashion brand together.
