Celebrating a partnership of culture and craft, Nahous and Tokyo James unveiled exclusive SS26 looks in Milan, merging African heritage with global luxury.

Milan, Italy — October 1, 2025Nahous proudly celebrates the success of Tokyo James’ Spring/Summer 2026 Women’s and Men’s Collection, CHAOS, presented on Sunday, September 28, during Milan Fashion Week.

The collection was a striking meditation on dualities, structure and fluidity, order and disruption. Sharply tailored silhouettes were set against sculptural ruffles, shredded leather, and deconstructed forms. James’ fearless use of leather, a hallmark of his craftsmanship, vividly brought the theme of CHAOS to life, securing the presentation as one of the most memorable of the season.

For this showcase, Tokyo James collaborated with Nahous, the Lagos based cultural foundation dedicated to advancing art and creativity across Africa. To mark this partnership, five exclusive looks were created for Nahous and unveiled on the runway. These pieces reflected both James’ mastery of form and Nahous’ mission to champion African creativity on a global stage. The collaboration underscored the role of cultural institutions in shaping the future of fashion while reinforcing James’ position as a designer bridging African heritage with international luxury.

Key looks included:

  • A structured leather jacket with cascading shredded panels paired with a floor length skirt, embodying the tension between structure and decay.

  • An ivory sculptural ruffle mini dress edged in burnt sienna.

  • Beaded trousers and a jumpsuit styled with leather crochet accessories.

  • A striped tailored ensemble topped with a bold sculptural red headpiece, merging tradition with avant garde experimentation.

  • A textured suit accented with hand beaded accessories, balancing precision with raw craftsmanship.

These specially commissioned designs will be exhibited at Nahous, giving visitors an intimate opportunity to engage with the artistry, technical mastery, and cultural narrative embedded in the collection. By bringing runway creations into an exhibition space, Nahous affirms fashion’s place within the realm of visual art, provoking thought, sparking emotion, and preserving contemporary stories for future generations.

For Nahous, this collaboration represents more than a creative exchange, it is a statement of presence on one of fashion’s most important stages. It challenges the global imbalance in cultural representation, asserting that African fashion is not peripheral but central to the contemporary conversation. By partnering with Tokyo James in Milan, Nahous continues its mission of positioning African design as both luxury and art, deeply rooted in heritage yet resonating with a global audience.
