Style Lounge Weekend 2025: A Celebration of African Fashion Future

Under the theme “African Fashion Future” from July 24 to August 25 at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, The Galleria.

This year’s edition introduced D.O.T.S. Trade, a bold, month-long showroom and pop-up experience designed to spotlight young and emerging African fashion designers and connect them to new markets across the continent and beyond.

The celebration began on July 24 with a private opening, where an intimate audience of creatives, industry leaders, and special guests gathered for the official unveiling of the showroom. Hosted by renowned makeup artist Alexandrina Don-Arthur, the evening marked the announcement of the two 2025 recipients of the Fashion Education Scholarship Program (FESP), Emmanuella Fafali Anyomi, a passionate high school graduate championing sustainable fashion, and Sampson Yaw Somuah, a skilled tailor rooted in Ghana’s rich sewing tradition. The awards were presented by Kofi Okyere Darko, Director of the Diaspora Affairs Office.

After the announcement, guests were welcomed into the beautifully curated showroom and pop-up, where they experienced a rich display of garments and accessories against a vibrant ambiance with curated sounds and signature sips by JP Chenet. The evening ended with The Industry Table, an intimate dinner curated by Chef Fiifi Abiram, giving space for fashion creatives to connect over meaningful conversations and good food.

The launch continued with the public opening on July 25, welcoming the broader fashion community to experience the showcase.

On July 26, the Next Generation Fashion Seminar was held at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, in partnership with The Or Foundation. Themed “Navigating the Transition from Emerging Designer to Established Brand,” the conversation was hosted by Nuel Bans and featured a powerful panel: Alima Bello (Alima Bello), Sammy Oteng (The Or Foundation), Kwaku Awiti Kyere (Metakay), Felicity Serwaa Amankona (February by Serwaa), and Edzordzinam Agrosah (BLOOMBYEDZI). Guests were later transported back by Wopecar, the official automobile partner to Kempinski for more time at the immersive showcase.

The showroom and pop-up will continue to run until August 25 and remains open to the public, offering an immersive shopping and viewing experience that blends creativity with commerce in a luxury setting.

Showcasing Designers: Ometsey, Adjasam, Dzini, Timi Ebiwe, Neesa Atelier, Maara Clothing, Seku, Kayadua, Ehiwoman, Danwira, Afia Achiaa, Maison Kanty’s, QA Men, Subwae, and Selasi Von Hausen.

For over 9 years, Style Lounge Platform has established itself in Africa as a launchpad platform for young and emerging African fashion designers practicing sustainable and ethical fashion.

Style Lounge Weekend 2025 reaffirms its mission to spotlight emerging talent, drive industry collaboration, and shape the next era of African fashion.

The showroom remains open to the general public until August 25.
