Globalized, African Menswear

Women’s wear has always stolen the spotlight when fashion is named. But recently, it seems our men had had enough of us stealing their glory and are stepping up their game. Designers such as Avant-garde says his clothing are for the ‘new age man’ who allows a mix of a little vulnerability and more masculinity. He showcased his new collection ‘the school of rejects’ at the Lagos fashion week sweeping the crowd off their feet with the collection.

The south African designer, Laduma whose brand is MaXhosa; was exhibited for the third time at this month’s Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence and is breaking shackles with his designs.

Also Alexis Temomain with the label name ‘Dent De Man’ is selling both locally and internationally, making it as far as Barney’s New York, an American Rag in Tokyo and Joyce in Hong Kong. Orange Couture is sold in Church Boutique in Los Angeles and Utter Couture in London.

African designer’s menswear is not regarded as an ‘after-thought’ where you only wear them when you have nothing else to  but a design you can roll with any day. It is heart-warming to discover Africa everywhere in Africa and Africa everywhere in the world. Quality is assured. Choose African menswear.
