Celebrities wore red pins on the red carpet for the 98th Academy Awards in support of a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. Stars including Billie Eilish, Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef and Finnneas were seen wearing small red pins for Gaza.
Outside the event, protesters calling for a cease-fire disrupted traffic around the Dolby Theatre and shut down streets. The pins feature an orange hand with a black heart inside, surrounded by a red circle.
The pin was designed by Artists4Ceasefire, an organization that wrote a letter asking President Biden to demand a ceasefire as well as the release of hostages and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region. More than 380 actors, musicians and filmmakers have signed the letter.
