Alessandro Michele has been appointed Maison Valentino’s new Creative Director following the departure of Pierpaolo Piccioli.
“It’s an incredible honour for me to be welcomed into Maison Valentino. I feel immense joy and great responsibility to join a couture house that carries the word ‘beauty’ engraved in a collective history, made of distinctive elegance, refinement and extreme grace”. Michele stated
Michele’s resume is outfitted with some of the most renowned names in fashion. He studied Fashion Design at the Accademia di Costume e di Moda in Rome. He went on to have an illustrious career. Working at Fendi as the senior accessories designer, then at Gucci where he worked for 20 years.
According to the Maison itself, Alessandro Michele’s “appointment marks the beginning of a new creative journey to continue shining unique values of the brand, its heritage and couture codes in the world through Alessandro Michele’s unique perspective and wealth of experience”.
Valentino’s new Creative Director will take charge from April 2, 2024.
