A Celebration of Timeless Prints and True Elegance

In a world where fashion designs are ever evolving, some designs stay with us. Forever etched as iconic.

Heritage textile house Vlisco, known for its era-defining prints reflects on what it truly means to be iconic with the launch of “Icons Last Forever” an intimate campaign that honours the timeless power of Vlisco’s most iconic designs that have shaped identities, inspired generations, and become cultural treasures.

At the heart of this cultural heritage campaign is renowned Cameroonian actress, entrepreneur, and cultural beacon Muriel Blanche who brings authenticity and redefines what it means to be iconic in today’s Africa.

Drawing inspiration from the lens of legendary Malian photographer Seydou Keïta, the campaign embodies the essence of beauty, the soul of an era, and cultural continuity.

As a symbol of cultural continuity, Muriel Blanche stands as the binding thread of generational legacy – “Vlisco is not just about prints, it’s about this real legacy that we all see and feel,” she reflects.

She remembers watching her mother and the women who raised her wear these prints to weddings, family gatherings, and special moments with each outfit holding its own story. “The more I saw my mother wear Vlisco, the more I wanted to wear it too. It’s a way to honour where I come from, and to carry that forward.”

The campaign unfolds in a three-part sequel that begins with the “Icons” collection, followed by the “Revival” designs, and then ends with the “Hommage” designs each chapter representing legacy, reinvention, and innovation in Vlisco’s story.

“Icons Last Forever” to Muriel is less of nostalgia, and more of continuation. About choosing to remember and reimagine, being authentic and having the courage to be rooted and inspiring others to do the same. It is a reflection of the past. A voice of the present. An impression for the future – a true essence of an icon.
