In preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Dior has assembled its own Dream Team.
WWD reports that the French fashion brand is adding 15 accomplished international female athletes as brand ambassadors. This includes Elaine Thompson-Herah from Jamaica, a five-time Olympic gold medalist, and U.S. soccer player Alex Morgan, a two-time World Cup winner. Hawaiian surfer Carissa Moore, Australian swimmer Emma McKeon, and Japanese fencer Misaki Emura are also on the roster.
Italian athletes include fencers Rossella Fiamingo, Alice Volpi, Arianna Errigo, and Paralympic fencers Beatrice “Bebe” Vio Grandis, Andreea Mogos, and Loredana Trigilia. The French team features boxer Estelle Mossely, skateboarder Louise-Aina Taboulet, fencer Sara Balzer, and judoka Clarisse Agbégnénou.
Previously, Dior and LVMH announced gymnast Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos, wheelchair tennis player Pauline Déroulède, and Para-cyclist Marie Patouillet as joint ambassadors. These athletes carried the Olympic torch at the Cannes Film Festival. Vio Grandis, featured in the Lady 95.22 handbag campaign, also walked the Cannes red carpet in Dior. Le Café Dior in Paris will showcase portraits of the athletes from July 24 to September 9.
Dior stated that the exhibition celebrates exceptional performance and invites continuous boundary-pushing in the pursuit of passion and freedom.
Several LVMH houses are involved in the Games. Berluti will dress the French teams for the opening ceremonies on July 26 and Aug. 28. Chaumet’s Olympic and Paralympic medals feature a piece of the Eiffel Tower. Vuitton has designed custom trunks to house the torches and medals.
