Ralph Lauren and Naiomi Glasses celebrate new collection at Santa Fe Indian Market.

Ralph Lauren and Naiomi Glasses launched their latest collaboration at the Santa Fe Indian Market.

The event featured a meet-and-greet with the Diné (Navajo) weaver at Malouf’s store on the Plaza.

Over 100 fashion enthusiasts, drawn to Southwestern chic styles, attended to see and shop the new “Denim Daydream” collection, which also launched on the Ralph Lauren website that same day.

Inspiration Behind the Collection

The men’s and women’s collection reflects Glasses’ passion for rodeo culture and its ties to Navajo life. This inspiration is evident in the range of denim and indigo-hued pieces that embody the signature Ralph Lauren aesthetic.

Notable items include a silk western shirt with pearl snaps, a calico broomstick skirt, a matching shirt, a suede “trophy” jacket, and a blanket coat. These designs pay homage to the traditional attire of Navajo rodeo contestants and the vibrant colors of the Dinétah (Navajo Nation) skies, as well as Glasses’ ranching roots in Arizona. The collection also features an embroidered clog, embroidered jeans, a baseball cap, and a fringe saddle blanket, with prices ranging from $168 to $1,298.

This collection marks the third and final installment of the collaboration. The first collection, titled “Love of the Land,” launched in December 2023, followed by “Color in Motion” in March 2024.

Glasses, who is an avid collector of turquoise and silver, curated a selection of jewelry from various artisan families across the Navajo Nation, Hopi Pueblo, San Felipe Pueblo, and Zuni Pueblo. These pieces are featured in the campaign and are available for purchase at select stores and online.

At the event, Glasses showcased her collection by wearing a stunning silver and turquoise necklace, a belt, and ornaments in her braided hair, along with a dreamy blue velvet blouse adorned with concho buttons and a printed full skirt.

“I’m so glad I get to share it with the world now,” she expressed about the latest drop.

“I went through this blue weaving thing, so when I was designing this, I was going after the indigos. I love the different blues and variations you can get,”

she added, highlighting a saturated-blue cotton sweater featuring Navajo four-directional crosses and wedge weave motifs.

Glasses is also featured in the Santa Fe New Mexican Legacy magazine, which is being distributed at the 102nd Indian Market, the largest and most prestigious native art market globally, showcasing the work of over 800 juried artists from 250 Nations. Some attendees at Malouf’s were so impressed that they asked her to autograph their copies of the magazine.

As part of this collaboration, a percentage of the purchase price from sales will benefit Creative Futures Collective, an organization dedicated to empowering creatives from disenfranchised and underrepresented communities. This organization played a key role in introducing Glasses to the Ralph Lauren team.

The Artist in Residence project is part of Ralph Lauren’s initiative to transition from mere inspiration to genuine collaboration with communities that have historically influenced his designs. This effort is led by the brand’s Design With Intent team, who were present at the event.

This year’s Santa Fe Indian Market also features the Indigenous Futures 4Ever in Fashion Summit and Fashion Show, organized by 4Kinship founder and designer Amy Denet Deal, in collaboration with Shopify, as well as the Southwest Association of Indian Arts group fashion show, founded and directed by Amber-Dawn Bear Robe.
