Shanghai Fashion Week announces Spring/Summer 2025 lineup, including notable debuts.
Among the highlights is British luxury label Vivienne Westwood, which will headline the event with a show on the final presentation day.
Running from October 9 to 19, this season promises to be particularly thrilling, especially with a focus on collaborations that solidify Shanghai Fashion Week’s status as a leader among Asian fashion events. Various city landmarks will host some of the shows, including the HAI 550 shopping center and the Fotografiska photography museum.
The theme for this season was revealed in a video posted on Instagram, showcasing a vast digital landscape along with a digitally-generated model. Titled “Emerging Grace,” the concept is described in the post’s caption:
“As we embrace a new era of technological advancements, our social and economic landscapes are transforming. Together, we’ll explore how fashion can shape the future within this evolving industrial world.”
In addition to regular participants like Shushu/Tong, Staffonly, Markgong, and Oude Waag, Vivienne Westwood’s show on October 17 highlights the fashion week’s ambition to establish an international presence. The lineup also includes Moncler, which will showcase its Moncler Genius concept at the event.
On October 19, following the conclusion of the official fashion week schedule, Moncler plans to expand on its Genius concept through an event aimed at exploring “the brand’s creative possibilities.” According to a press release, Moncler seeks to embrace Shanghai’s vibrant energy and spirit of “dreams and innovation.”
H&M is another global brand looking to capitalize on Shanghai Fashion Week’s growing prominence. The Swedish retailer announced a collaborative collection with Chinese designer Garçon by Garçon. Launching on October 10, this line will include womenswear, menswear, unisex apparel, and accessories for autumn/winter under the theme ‘Le Soleil.’ The collection will be available at H&M’s T-Mall flagship store, its Chinese e-commerce site, and select locations across Greater China.
