Nigerian fashion house Aga Culture has released a new collection dubbed the AADA Collection. It is Aga’s culture-first clothing collection. The collection is full of color and inspiration.
With this collection, the designer, Moyo, collaborated with Adekepemi, a multimedia artist. The collection was inspired by Moyo’s Childhood, dreams made up of endless strings of Hibiscus flowers and freehand drawings to while away the days in Ibadan.
The bright colors of bustling Ibadan street markets and pulsating rhythms of Lagos informed the color palette as well as the calm nostalgic spirit of childhood days roaming in hibiscus garden, drawing the simple shapes, architectural lines, and bold colors reflect the notion of “clothing as art” and ‘clothing as a story board’. The vibrant fashion collection mainly female, also has a mix of androgynous pieces.
