Balenciaga has finally cut ties with rapper cum fashion designer Kanye West. This comes on the back of the rapper-turned-designer’s string of antisemitic and offensive remarks recently.
In a statement released by the fashion house’s parent company, Kering, “Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist.”
For the past few months, Ye has been the center of several controversies. The most recent of them was when he talked about the late George Floyd on NORE’s podcast Drink Champs. Kanye claimed Floyd did was not murdered the police as we all know but fentanyl killed him. He then made some antisemitic comments.
Balenciaga, prior to this, had taken down Kanye’s runway look from its website. A section of the website that was dedicated to the Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga collaborations had also been deleted.
What’s next for Kanye as he’s just lost his closest and oldest partner in the world of luxury fashion?
