Gucci to Accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Other Cryptos

Gucci is set to embrace the ever-evolving modern technology and this time it is preparing to accept cryptocurrencies. This new development is set to happen at the end of May 2022.

The rollout is starting in a selected few stores in the US. Gucci plans to widen the pilot to all of its directly-operated North American stores in the next few months.

Cryptocurrencies that will be accepted include Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, and five stablecoins that are pegged to the US dollar. Also, Elon Musk’s favourite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, will be accepted.

The first Gucci stores getting the rollout are:

  1. Wooster Street in New York
  2. Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles
  3. Miami Design District
  4. Phipps Plaza in Atlanta
  5. The Shops at Crystals in Las Vegas.

Marco Bizzarri, Gucci president and CEO, in a statement, said: “Gucci is always looking to embrace new technologies when they can provide an enhanced experience for our customers.

Now that we are able to integrate cryptocurrencies within our payment system, it is a natural evolution for those customers who would like to have this option available to them.

Gucci isnt the only fashion house moving in this direction. In March, Off-White announced that flagship stores in Paris, London, and Milan had begun accepting payments including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, and a few others.
