I try as much as possible to remain in my style sphere whilst pulling different trends, rather than going for the typical 70’s trend i opted for the contemporary vintage style
I hear from people who have yet to take the plunge into the world of vintage clothing is that, if they do, they will look like they are wearing a costume. Here are 3 tips for wearing vintage while avoiding exactly that.
• Pick a certain Era: Each era will have had its own distinctive style- and it’s down to you to decide what style you want to go for. Generally speaking, the latter half of the 20th century tends to go better with a contemporary wardrobe, though clothes from earlier in the century
• Own it:To avoid looking like you’ve just travelled forward in time, try mixing up your vintage clothing with more contemporary pieces as well. A vintage short sleeve, or a classic Oxford shirt, can still work nicely with a pair of skinny jeans and sneakers.
• Accessorize: Pairing vintage clothing with decidedly modern shoes, bags and sunglasses is an easy way to dramatically ground.
