The Ghana Inauguration 2017 was held to swear in the President elects and vice that won the election the previous year. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been sworn in as Ghana’s 5th president under the 4th Republic after defeating former president John Mahama in last month’s election. Mr Akufo-Addo, a 72-year-old and former Human Rights Lawyer.
Heads of states from across Africa and thousands of guests and dignitaries watched him take the oath of office at a ceremony in the capital, Accra. Mr Akufo-Addo, 72-year-old and former Human Rights Lawyer.
The Blackstar square was thrilled with performances, Fashion and Culture. Ghanaians came out in their beautiful party colours and Ghana flags Whiles most of the personalities were clad in Kente designs and other royal styles.
At the 7th inauguration of the swearing-in ceremony, a large number of public figures and politicians wore the kente fabric including the president of the republic of Ghana.Kente is a popular Ghanaian fabric which is worn during special occasions like weddings, parties, festivals. The cloth was first produced in Bonwire, a town in the Ashanti kingdom, and was later copied by certain tribes from Ivory Coast and other West African countries. Also, other ethnic groups in Ghana have their own version of kente. It is the best known of all African textiles. Both men and women wore colourful Kente to grace the occasion. Notable amongst them were the President, Nana Akufo-Addo The first And second lady can not escape the Best dress Title at the event.
Also, There were performances from the various ethnic groups in Ghana to adorn the event which includes drummers, singers and dancers.
To others, 7th January 2017 was just the second independence of Ghanaians.
