Not New to Italian Fashion
Though not as popular as the former Creative Director, Michele, De Sarno has been working mainly behind the scenes in the Italian fashion industry. Since 2005, De Sarno has been working with top-name fashion brands like Prada and Dolce & Gabbana.
Former Fashion Director at Valentino
From Prada (in 2005) to Dolce & Gabbana, he then moved to Valentino in 2009. There, De Sarno eventually became the fashion director. He oversaw Valentino’s men’s and women’s RTW collections.
First Collection in September 2023
De Sarno will be unveiling his first Gucci collection in September during Milan Fashion Week. he will be responsible for all the brand’s collections: women’s, men’s, leather goods, accessories, and lifestyle.
As of now De Sarno is not fully seated as Gucci’s creative director. Thus, in the meantime, the company’s collections, including the womenswear Fall-Winter 2023-24 collection (which would be presented in Milan in February), are being designed by the in-house team.
